A native New Yorker, Benjamin Croen (he/him) is an emerging theatre director, acting coach, baritone, and performing artist.
Benjamin began his career on the stage at age seven as a child soloist with the Metropolitan Opera, continuing on to receive conservatory training in opera performance and direction. As an opera director, he has run the gamut from baroque to contemporary, working at both conservatories and music festivals.
Directing credits include: The Telephone (Oberlin Conservatory), At the Statue of Venus (Oberlin), The Escape Artist (NTI Theatermakers), and the Miami Classical Music Festival's Opera Scenes Program.
Assistant Directing credits include: Some Light Emerges (Utopia Opera, NYC Premiere), The Story of Harriet Tubman (Utopia, NYC Premiere), La Rondine (MCMF), and Ariadne auf Naxos (MCMF).
Benjamin is a proud graduate of the National Theatre Institute's Advanced Directing Program. He received his Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Performance from Oberlin Conservatory.
